PROFESSIONAL COACHING
BUILDING TEAMS THAT KNOW HOW TO COMPETE, ADAPT AND GROW.
UEFA Pro Coach · International Experience · Tactical & Performance Development
More than three decades of coaching experience across different countries, cultures and competitive environments.
The objective goes beyond organising a team.
It is to create a competitive environment where the game model, training process, individual development, staff and decision-making operate with clarity and coherence.

01 — COACHING PHILOSOPHY
THE GAME IS COMPLEX. THE ENVIRONMENT SHOULD CREATE CLARITY.
Football cannot be reduced to exercises, formations or isolated tactical concepts.
Every competitive action emerges from relationships between players, space, time, information, opposition and intention.
Training must prepare players to recognise those relationships and make better decisions within them.
The role of the coach is therefore not simply to transmit information.
It is to design an environment where players can understand the game, develop solutions and reproduce collective behaviours under competitive pressure.
TRAINING MUST CONNECT WITH THE GAME.
INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT MUST CONNECT WITH THE TEAM.
THE GAME MODEL MUST CONNECT WITH THE PLAYERS AVAILABLE.
PERFORMANCE MUST CONNECT WITH CONTEXT.
02 — THREE PROFESSIONAL ROLES
DIFFERENT RESPONSIBILITIES. ONE PERFORMANCE LOGIC.

DISCUSS A HEAD COACH ROLE
ASSISTANT COACH
ADDING CAPABILITY WITHOUT ADDING NOISE
Modern technical staffs contain enormous amounts of information.
The value of an assistant is not simply producing more analysis.
It is helping the Head Coach transform information into useful decisions.
Possible areas of responsibility:
- Tactical development
- Training design
- Opposition analysis
- Individual player development
- Positional work
- Match analysis
- Game-plan preparation
- Set-piece support
- Performance feedback
- Methodological organisation
- AI-supported analysis
- Connection between departments and technical staff
The role adapts to the Head Coach and existing staff structure.

03 — THE COACHING PROCESS
FROM IDEA TO COMPETITIVE BEHAVIOUR
A game model has no value because it exists in a presentation.
It has value when players can recognise, interpret and reproduce its principles under pressure.
The coaching process connects five levels:
01 — UNDERSTAND
Analyse the squad, competitive environment, club identity and available resources.
02 — DEFINE
Establish principles, priorities and collective behaviours.
03 — DESIGN
Create training environments capable of developing those behaviours.
04 — INDIVIDUALISE
Adapt development to the characteristics and needs of each player.
05 — COMPETE & ADAPT
Evaluate what happens in competition and continuously evolve the process.
ANALYSE → DEFINE → TRAIN → COMPETE → LEARN → ADAPT
04 — THE PLAYER INSIDE THE SYSTEM
THE PLAYER DOES NOT EXIST OUTSIDE THE GAME.
Collective organisation and individual development should never compete with each other.
The team requires common principles.
The player requires individual attention.
High-performance coaching must achieve both.
Individual development can include:
- Positional understanding
- Technical optimisation
- Tactical decision-making
- Perception and anticipation
- Role-specific development
- Behaviour under pressure
- Video feedback
- Individual performance objectives
- Connection between personal strengths and collective requirements
INDIVIDUALISE THE PLAYER WITHOUT FRAGMENTING THE TEAM.
05 — INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. DIFFERENT FOOTBALL REALITIES.
Professional experience across different football cultures has reinforced one fundamental principle:
CONTEXT COMES BEFORE DOGMA.
Methods cannot simply be exported from one country to another.
Players are different.
Competitions are different.
Club structures are different.
Cultures are different.
Resources are different.
The principles must therefore be strong enough to provide direction and flexible enough to adapt.

06 — EVIDENCE
NOT THEORY. APPLIED EXPERIENCE.
7+ TITLES
Championship-winning experience across competitive and development environments.
11 PLAYERS PROMOTED
Players progressed from Al Shabab’s Olympic / development structure toward first-team football during the period of work there.
INTERNATIONAL-LEVEL DEVELOPMENT
Experience within environments that developed players who later progressed into senior professional and international football.
MULTI-COUNTRY EXPERIENCE
Europe · Middle East · Southeast Asia · Caribbean
ELITE DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION
Championship success against one of the strongest RCD Mallorca youth generations of its period, including players who subsequently reached elite professional football.
07 — THE STAFF
THE MODERN COACH DOES NOT WORK ALONE.
High-performance football requires specialist knowledge.
Assistant coaches.
Physical-performance staff.
Analysts.
Medical departments.
Goalkeeping coaches.
Sports scientists.
Data specialists.
Methodology professionals.
The Head Coach cannot — and should not — replace them.
The challenge is different:
CONNECT THEIR KNOWLEDGE AROUND THE NEEDS OF THE TEAM.
A strong technical staff does not simply contain good specialists.
It creates a common decision environment where information becomes coordinated action.

08 — TECHNOLOGY & AI
TECHNOLOGY SHOULD IMPROVE DECISIONS — NOT CREATE MORE INFORMATION.
Modern football produces enormous amounts of data.
Video.
GPS.
Physical metrics.
Medical information.
Scouting.
Opposition analysis.
Training data.
Artificial intelligence.
The competitive advantage does not come from possessing more information.
It comes from connecting the right information to the right decision at the right moment.
Technology and AI can therefore support:
- Match preparation
- Opposition analysis
- Training evaluation
- Player development
- Knowledge capture
- Performance reporting
- Staff communication
- Pattern identification
- Decision support
DATA IS AN INPUT.
THE DECISION REMAINS THE OUTPUT.
09 — FROM COACHING TO SYSTEM
SOMETIMES THE PROBLEM IS BIGGER THAN THE TEAM.
A coach can transform many things.
But some performance problems originate outside the training ground.
Methodology.
Academy structure.
Department coordination.
Knowledge management.
Recruitment processes.
Technology.
Organisational decision-making.
When the challenge extends beyond one team, the intervention must extend beyond coaching.

10 — THE PONS METHOD
A METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATION BUILT THROUGH EXPERIENCE
The PONS Method emerged from decades of coaching, experimentation, observation and adaptation across different football realities.
